Why doesn't posting my art constantly on social media lead to sales or followers?
Constantly posting just your artwork is what’s called the ‘Art Gatling Gun’—art, art, art, art all day long with no context about who you are as a person. Your art pieces are essentially commercials. If there was a TV channel that only showed commercials, no one would watch it. You need to create ‘programming’ so you can show the commercials. The programming is YOU—who you are as a human being, what you do when not creating, what makes you interesting. People are wired to do business with those they know, like, and trust. If someone interacts with your content and has no opportunity to get to know you as a person, you’ve failed. This is why the algorithm doesn’t reward you and why you don’t gain followers or sales.
