If I find a series or subject matter that sells really well, should I move on to something new to stay creative?
If something is working and selling well, don’t stop doing it just because you want to create something new. Think of it like a musician’s biggest hit that stays popular for years - if you’ve found your ‘hit,’ keep producing it while the market wants it. You can always work on other side projects and new concepts simultaneously, but your main focus should be on what’s proven to sell. As an artist, you may want variety and creative challenges, but from a business perspective, you should capitalize on what’s working. You have a gift and a purpose - if you’ve found the subject matter that resonates with buyers, that’s incredibly valuable.
