Always choose the artist with the right mindset over the one with the best art. Given a choice between investing in an average artist with the correct long-term perspective versus a highly talented artist without it, pick the average artist every time. Why? Because talented artists often come with entitlement and privilege—they’ve been told they’re so good that they expect instant success. When they try digital marketing for a month and don’t see big results, they quit and blame the medium. The artist who understands it takes years to build any business, regardless of their current skill level, is the one who will actually put in the sustained effort required to win.
