What's the paradigm I need to break about art shows?
The traditional paradigm of an ‘art show’ evokes big setup, weeks or months of planning, perfect preparation, carefully selected works, formal presentation—an extremely friction-filled process. This paradigm comes from in-person gallery shows and needs to be completely broken for live online selling. Live shows and flash sales are not about one big, perfect show. They’re about thousands of little, spontaneous ones. Each one is practice, content creation, audience building, and a line in the water. The success of live selling comes from volume and consistency, not perfection. You need to shift your thinking from ‘I need to prepare for months for one big event’ to ‘I’m going to go live today with whatever I have and do it again tomorrow.’
