Is it okay to sell at art fairs and craft shows as a first-time artist?

Absolutely. It’s okay to sell anywhere commerce transacts. Art fairs are fantastic for getting your work out there. You can even build an entire business just doing art fairs if you’re inclined. They’re excellent opportunities to get feedback and have conversations with potential buyers. If booth fees are a concern, consider starting with local farmer’s markets, setting up at a busy corner with a table (guerrilla marketing style), or even hosting a garage sale where you display your art alongside other items. The key is getting your work in front of people and having conversations.
