What image resolution do I need for selling prints in various sizes?
You need 300 DPI images from the original artwork. You no longer need expensive scanning services—the DPI of digital cameras has advanced so much that professional photography of your artwork is now the best option. Post an ad looking for a photographer experienced in photographing fine art for reproduction, ask for references of artists they’ve worked with, and you’ll likely pay $25-35 per image. They’ll come to your location (so you don’t have to move the artwork), photograph everything in one session, and provide high-resolution files that allow you to reproduce at any reasonable size or even double the original size with no quality issues. When you upload images, the system will immediately tell you if the quality is sufficient for various sizes or if there are any limitations.
