Should I limit the edition size of my limited-edition prints to increase perceived value?
Edition size alone does not create scarcity or value—your marketing and presentation do. Editions of 20, 25, or even 100 can sell well if you clearly communicate what makes them special. Perceived value comes from how you describe and promote the limited edition: emphasize the hand signature, the numbered certificate, any included extras (a personal note, small merchandise item, or exclusive packaging), and the fact that you fulfill these orders personally. Don’t assume a smaller number automatically means higher value. Instead, focus on storytelling and the unique experience of owning a signed, numbered piece. If you do adjust edition sizes, do so based on demand and your own production capacity, not arbitrary fear that 25 is “too many.” Promote the benefits and exclusivity through your social media and product descriptions, and buyers will understand the value.
