How do I balance learning new marketing techniques with actually doing the work?
Be extremely selective about what you investigate. Most new marketing techniques are distractions that will take your normal to-do list and put it through the paper shredder. Implement a strict vetting process: ignore new techniques the first several times you see them. Only after seeing something repeatedly across multiple channels, and confirming that successful practitioners are actually using it, should you invest time to learn it. When you do commit, go deep - don’t just investigate superficially, but really experiment and develop real skill. This approach prevents constant distraction while ensuring you don’t miss genuinely important developments.
