What should I expect in terms of failure and success rates with my marketing efforts?
Most of what you do is not going to work. That’s normal and expected. Probably three out of ten things you try will work, and that’s actually a good ratio. The key is having the right perspective so you don’t get depressed about the misses. If you understand that failure is part of the process, you can persevere and outlast others who give up. As long as you’re having continual growth every year and each year is better than the last, you’re on the right path. You’ll fail a lot and win a few times - that’s how entrepreneurship works in any industry. The successful artists aren’t lucky; they persevered through years of work, learned what their customers wanted, tested continuously, and eventually found what resonated.
