How important is it to show my personality alongside my art?

Art sales are 50/50 - it’s 50% the art itself and 50% the artist. Buyers want to know: Who are you? What are you into? What are your favorite shows? What do you do on weekends? When they find commonalities with you - laughing at the same shows, having shared interests - they’re more likely to buy. This is especially true for younger audiences who are accustomed to following influencers and buying from people they feel connected to. People buy from creators they trust and feel bonded to, so sharing your personality isn’t optional - it’s essential for building long-term collector relationships. Fans who connect with you as a person will stay with you throughout your entire career.
