I've been painting for years but my work isn't selling. Does this mean I should quit?

Not selling doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a bad artist - it often means your subject matter isn’t resonating with buyers. Many successful artists have pivoted to different subject matter and found tremendous success. If you’re technically proficient but not getting sales, consider testing new themes or subjects while maintaining your artistic style. The art market, like any business, requires finding what people want to buy. Look at successful entrepreneurs who started with one idea, pivoted to another, and found success. Your artistic skills are valuable - you may just need to apply them to subject matter that has stronger market demand.
