When photographing surfers or athletes, use a mobile app with a QR code or email capture form. Instead of having people scan and enter their information themselves, take control of the process. When subjects come out of the water or finish their activity, hand them your phone with the email capture form already open, have them enter their details, then take a screenshot before submitting it to whatever platform you’re using. This screenshot captures their name and email for your own follow-up list. You can then add these contacts to your main email list and market your broader art to them, not just the event photos.
