I've never sold my art before and I'm not sure if it's good enough to sell. How do I find out if my art will actually sell?
The fastest way to validate if your art will sell is to do a simple live test on social media. Go live on Instagram and Facebook (or make a post if you’re not comfortable with live video yet). Show 3-5 pieces you have ready to sell. Tell your audience you’re launching an art business and want to get your first pieces out the door. Offer an amazing introductory discount—if you’d normally price a piece at $500, offer it for $150 right now, just for the first few takers. Make it clear this is a one-time launch celebration and you’ll never do this again. Talk about each piece, show different angles, mention it’s ready to hang, and explain how they can pay you (PayPal, Venmo, etc.). Do this within 48 hours. If pieces sell to people who aren’t family or close friends, you’ve validated that your art has a market. If nothing sells, you have your answer in one day and can either try a different subject matter or just paint for enjoyment.
