Besides the obvious holidays like Mother's Day, Christmas, and Black Friday, how can I add more sales events to my calendar?
Get creative and invent your own sales events, just like major retailers do. The biggest ecommerce event in the world isn’t Black Friday or Christmas—it’s Singles Day in China on November 11th, which does $75 billion in sales compared to Black Friday through Cyber Monday’s $28 billion. Singles Day was invented out of whole cloth by Chinese entrepreneurs who simply needed another reason to run a sale. Amazon saw this success and created Prime Day in 2015 to celebrate their 20th anniversary, and it now generates over $10 billion annually. The lesson: the smartest merchants invent holidays whenever they want to. You can do the same. For example, you could create your own sale that runs alongside Amazon Prime Day, or invent ‘Christmas in July’ for your art business. Look for creative excuses to add more sales events to your calendar beyond the traditional holidays.
