What should I say when doing a live sale to launch my art business?
Be personable and direct. Explain your situation authentically—for example, if you’ve had extra time to create, mention that. Say something like: ‘I want to launch this art business and see if my art will sell. Everyone’s told me they like it, but unfortunately there’s no like button at the ATM—I need to see if people will actually buy it.’ Then show each piece, talk about it with some romance and detail, show different angles and the back, mention it’s ready to hang, state the normal price and your special launch discount, and ask ‘Who’s the first taker?’ Explain how they can pay you immediately. Be conversational—you’re having a dialogue with your audience, not delivering a formal presentation.
