What should I focus on if I'm not selling a high volume of art each month?
Focus on doing things that don’t scale—activities you couldn’t sustain if you had thousands of customers. Since you’re not handling 50 orders a month or multiple orders per day, you have time to invest deeply in each potential buyer. This includes handwritten thank-you notes, extended one-on-one conversations, spending extra time merchandising and discussing your work with collectors, and personalizing the experience in ways that would be impossible at scale. These labor-intensive, personal touches become your competitive advantage when you have the time to execute them.
