How do I turn a buying question into a selling conversation?

When you receive a compliment or question about your work, immediately respond by acknowledging their interest and opening a conversation about purchasing. For example: ‘Thank you so much. Just to let you know, that piece is actually for sale,’ or ‘I really appreciate that. What size piece are you looking for?’ or ‘Would you like to have that on your wall?’ or ‘Good timing—I’m actually running a sale in a few days and that piece is included.’ The key is not to just say ‘thank you’ or respond with emojis. Instead, start an actual conversation about acquiring the work. Your goal is to find out if they’re just being nice or if they genuinely want to purchase, and you can’t know without starting the conversation.
