Is there a single correct path to success as an artist?

There is no one way to make it as an artist. Every artist has to forge their own path. Decisions about discounting, having sales, selling prints, pursuing galleries, offering merchandise, doing in-person shows - these all have multiple valid approaches. What works brilliantly for one artist may not work for another. Success comes in many forms across different seasons of life, artistic mediums, business models, and geographic locations. Rather than looking for the ‘right’ way, learn from many different artists’ paths, take what resonates, adapt it to your situation, and build your unique approach. Your artist’s journey and business journey will be different from everyone else’s, and that’s exactly how it should be.
