You’re in rented land if you don’t own your customer list, can’t email or contact your buyers, and depend on a third party to make your sales. Ask yourself: if this platform disappeared tomorrow, would I have a business? If the answer is no—if you’d lose your customers, your audience, and your income—you’re in rented land. You need to build on your own foundation: your own website, your own email list, your own traffic and marketing. That’s what gives you security and control.
