Should I alter or customize existing artwork based on customer requests?

It’s generally best not to alter completed artwork. Once a piece is finished, it represents a complete creative statement and moment in time. If customers want customization, offer to create new commissioned work specifically for them based on their experiences and needs, rather than modifying existing pieces. This preserves the integrity of your original work while still serving clients who want something personalized. Commission work can be a strong revenue stream where you create new pieces tailored to individual clients’ stories and requirements. This approach honors both your artistic integrity and your clients’ desire for personalized work.
