How do I find my authentic artistic voice and style?

You have to paint to find your style—no one is going to give it to you. You can attend workshops for inspiration, but unless you go back to your studio and create while listening to your own voice, you won’t develop a viable long-term style. Stay true to yourself and your authentic voice. You’ll get a lot of criticism and input from different audiences—friends will say one thing, galleries another, buyers something else. Know yourself internally because that is your true north. Get in touch with what you can always go back to. If you understand that and can keep in touch with it, you can do anything. This self-knowledge is what will keep you passionate and interested throughout your career.
