Why is showing creative process better than just posting finished artwork?

Showing your process brings people backstage and creates entertainment value and connection that finished images alone cannot achieve. When people watch you paint custom shoes, transform thrift store art, or capture that perfect wildlife shot, they understand the time, effort, precision, and talent involved. This builds warmth rather than coldness—viewers appreciate the artistry and are willing to pay more because they understand the value. The process is often more entertaining than the final product. People might not even be your target buyer, but they’ll watch, remember you, and tell friends about you because the process was captivating. In contrast, just posting two-dimensional finished images makes you compete with millions of other images posted daily with nothing to differentiate you or build connection.
