What should my artist website look like to effectively sell art online?

Your website should come as close as possible to an art gallery experience. Think minimalist and monochromatic — usually white walls, the artwork beautifully displayed and well-lit, clean and simple. Avoid turning your website into a canvas you’re painting with fancy fonts, colors, complex design, and walls of text. There’s alchemy in the gallery experience: when people walk into a gallery, they know exactly what they’re supposed to be doing — viewing and potentially buying art. Your website should make that just as clear. The artwork should be the hero, with prices listed and an easy checkout process, just like in a physical gallery.
