Should I create a YouTube channel for my art marketing?

Only if you’re prepared for the enormous time commitment and have a specific content strategy. YouTube is not a social media platform—it’s a content platform that requires highly produced, in-depth videos. Successful YouTube channels today typically post one long-format video daily, with detailed scripts, professional production quality, and significant editing. This can require 8+ hours of work per day. For most artists, this isn’t practical or necessary. YouTube can work as a placeholder for long-format content you want to embed elsewhere, or if you’re creating educational series (like hour-long videos explaining your creative process, technique, or inspiration for specific works). But trying to build a YouTube presence the same way you would Instagram will fail. Focus on Instagram and Facebook unless you have a very specific reason and the resources to commit to YouTube properly.
