How do I evaluate whether a new marketing technique is worth my time or just another shiny object?
Create a vetting system: when you first hear about a new technique or tool, ignore it. If it comes up a second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth time across different channels, then investigate further. After seeing it repeatedly, check whether top practitioners and marketers you follow are actually using it in the trenches. Only after passing this test should you dive deep - sign up, experiment thoroughly, and really put it through its paces to get good at it. This prevents you from chasing every shiny object while ensuring you don’t miss genuinely important developments.
