My website looks cluttered and busy. How should I design it?

Your website should be minimalist and mimic an art gallery or museum, because that’s the proven paradigm for how art sells worldwide. It doesn’t matter what language or culture—every museum and gallery looks the same: minimalist, monochromatic walls (usually white), art hung up, and nothing else. Yet when you visit most artists’ websites, there are multiple fonts, colors, goofy slideshows, things moving around—it would be a modern-day miracle if anyone could focus on the art. Strip away all of that. Your website should put the focus entirely on your work, just like a physical gallery does. Clean, simple, elegant—let the art be the star, not the website design.
