What markup percentage should I use on my prints?

In the middle range of your pricing, mark up your prints at a minimum of 250%. Depending on demand, some artists go to 300%, 400%, 500%, 600%, or even 700%. For example, if a canvas or metal print costs you $100 from the printer, at 250% markup you’d sell it for $350. This markup gives you room to negotiate, run sales, and still maintain healthy profit margins. The markup is strategic—it’s not arbitrary—because it enables you to use negotiation and discounting as tools to move work without hurting your business.
