My art has nothing to do with Mother's Day or other holidays. Should I still run promotions during these times?
Yes, absolutely. This is one of the biggest misconceptions in the art business. Holiday promotions have almost nothing to do with whether your specific artwork relates to the holiday theme. During major holidays like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, etc., every retailer spends massive amounts on advertising, which psychologically loosens buyers’ wallets across the board. People are primed to spend money during these times. Think of it like fishing when the fish are biting—your odds of making a sale go up dramatically simply because buyers are in spending mode, regardless of what you’re selling. Don’t sit on the sideline because you think the holiday doesn’t apply to your art.
