How does automated fulfillment handle damaged or lost shipments?
When you’re printing yourself or using a local printer, a damaged shipment becomes a nightmare. You have to get photos, interface with the printer, file claims with shipping companies, apologize profusely to customers, and wait weeks or months to make it right. Large fulfillment partners have built damage and loss into their business model at much lower rates because they’re experts at packaging. In many cases, they’ll simply print and ship a replacement immediately without requiring you to ship back the damaged item or jump through hoops with photos. The entire customer service burden is removed from you. You have no power as a small individual account with a printing company, but when working through a larger service, that service has leverage and importance with the fulfillment partners, so issues get resolved quickly and professionally.
