I've been creating this body of work for years. Do I have to abandon it all if it's not selling well?

No. Unlike many businesses, you don’t have to abandon everything. Those weren’t wasted hours—you learned a ton and built skills. You can keep that work available while rapidly iterating on new subject matter or styles. Often, new marketable content brings people in, and then they discover and buy your older work too. You’re an inventor who can create new products quickly with almost no overhead. Test new things while keeping what you love.
