How should I approach posting personal content on social media as an artist?

After hearing advice about not just posting art, one artist posted a reel about the difficulty of operating a kettle after having a stroke, and got a completely different audience—people who connected with the feelings around strokes, brain injuries, or having partners with those experiences. This is exactly right. The content was creative but not about art, and it connected emotionally with real people. This shows how sharing your genuine life experiences and challenges—done in a creative way—opens up completely different realms of connection with potential collectors. You’re not running an art gatling gun anymore; you’re having real conversations and letting people know you as a person.
