What activities should I focus on during summer if I can't create new work right now?

If you can’t focus on creation during the busy summer selling season, shift to marketing and business development activities. This could include: responding to emails, reaching out to past collectors, capturing email addresses, talking to local businesses like doctor’s offices or restaurants about displaying or selling your work, offering to do a mural for free to gain exposure, offering custom artwork, booking your first art fair or show, getting your website launched or improved, posting more consistently on social media, or doing a pop-up exhibition. The key is that summer is the time to work on getting your existing work out in front of new eyeballs, not the time to lock yourself in the studio creating. Save heavy creation periods for winter and early spring.
