Why is going live like opening a retail store?
When you go live on social media, you’re essentially opening the doors of your gallery and people are walking in. When you email your list and they click through to your website, they’ve been invited to visit your store. But when you go live, you’re bringing the store directly to them—they’re scrolling through their feed (the mall) and suddenly your live broadcast appears in front of them (your window display). They can choose to click and enter, and then you’re showing them products and selling, just like a salesperson in a retail store. This is why you need to think like a retail store owner: have your products ready to show, practice your merchandising, know your sales language, create offers, and open your doors regularly. The more you’re open for business, the more chances you have to make sales.
