How do I identify and market to a profitable niche as an artist?

Look for niches where people have both passion and money to spend. The more specific and passionate the niche, the better. For example, automotive enthusiasts, especially those who own luxury or exotic cars, spend enormous amounts of money on their vehicles and love to display their passion. They’re willing to invest in anything that celebrates their specific car. The key is to penetrate that world deeply rather than trying to appeal to everyone. Research exactly what’s current in that niche—new models, popular colors, trending styles. Create work specifically tied to these timely elements. Think about where these collectors naturally display art that others might not—like garages, man caves, and showrooms. Market directly to those specific spaces and use cases. Don’t be afraid to target the whales—the highest end of your niche market—because they have the money and the passion.
