I'm an artist based in Europe selling to the U.S. market. Americans love my European subject matter. Should I lean into this?

Absolutely. While you should always ‘do you’ and not let market demands solely dictate your creative direction, Americans do love European imagery, lifestyle, and culture—it’s a competitive advantage. It’s much harder for American artists to regularly travel to places like Tuscany or the Italian countryside to create and then tell authentic stories about the experience. If you’re living it, you have natural material that resonates with a large buying audience. Use this as part of your story and marketing while staying true to your creative vision.
