How important is consistency in marketing my art business?

If you owned a physical gallery, you’d have to show up and open it 5-6 days a week, even when you didn’t feel like it, when you were on vacation, when life happened, or when you had personal issues—because you have rent to pay. You wouldn’t put a ‘closed for summer’ sign on the door and disappear for 3 months. The same applies to your art business marketing. You say you want an art business, but if your marketing has been closed for 3, 6, 9 months, or years at a time, you’re not running a business. You don’t have to market 7 days a week, but you can’t close up shop for extended periods and expect to build a sustainable business. Consistency is essential—treat your marketing like you would a physical gallery that needs to stay open.
