Why doesn't viral content always translate to sales for artists?
When artists go viral with content unrelated to their art—like a cooking video or an epic fail—it doesn’t translate to followers or sales because there’s a disconnect between what went viral and what they’re actually selling. The audience attracted by that viral content isn’t interested in the art itself. However, when an artist goes viral because of their creative process or unique artistic approach—the actual art-making—that attention does convert because the audience discovered them specifically for their creativity and artistic talent. The key is that the viral content must showcase your art or creative process, not just be entertaining in an unrelated way.
