What's the reality of how visitors actually view art on an artist's website?

When people visit your website, they typically spend about 30 seconds on your homepage. They don’t go through and look at every piece of art you have—they’ll forget everything they saw except maybe one piece they liked, and they might click on that one before leaving. If you check your analytics, you’ll find that almost nobody is visiting your individual product pages. Very few people are seeing your individual artworks. This is why you can’t rely on people browsing your site—you need to bring your art to them through social media and email, actively promoting each piece. Otherwise, work you created months or years ago that could be generating passive income is essentially invisible.
