What is merchandising and why is it important?

Merchandising means showing the actual physical products you’re selling—canvas prints, metal prints, acrylics, framed pieces, throw pillows, greeting cards, etc. You need to have samples of everything you offer and show them off regularly in videos and on calls. Explain the nuances: the paper type, the frame, how it’s ready to hang, how long it lasts, the detail and quality. If you’re selling something, you need to be able to show it off. Think of it this way: if you were selling knives door-to-door, would you show up with a catalog of pictures or with the actual knives? You’d bring the knives. The same applies to your art products. Order samples of everything you sell and use them to merchandise during live sessions, consultative calls, and social posts.
