What counts as validation that my art will sell?

Your art is validated when people who aren’t family members or close friends buy it. Sales to your mom, dad, or friends don’t count as true market validation—you need strangers or acquaintances to vote with their wallets. If you can get a few pieces sold to actual buyers during your launch test, you’ve proven there’s a market for your work and you’re ready to build a real art business.
