What's the single most important mindset shift artists need to make to succeed?
Nobody is coming to save you. No one will discover you, validate your work, tell you your prices are right, or hand you opportunities. You must be your own biggest advocate. If you can’t look at your work and confidently say ‘this is good, I did my best, it’s worth $20,000,’ then no one else will believe it either. Confidence isn’t a personality trait—it’s a learned skill developed through practice. Pay attention to moments when you feel confident, write them down, and do more of those things. Stop waiting for external validation. You have to go out and get the things you want. No one is going to knock on your door and make you successful.
