How long will I be creating and selling my art?

If you’re showing up to learn about building an art business, you will likely be creating art for the rest of your life. This could be 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, or even 70 years. Unlike other professions where people retire and move on, the creative gifting is a profundity—artists routinely continue creating well into their 80s, 90s, and even past 100. When you realize how much time you have left in this business, it fundamentally changes your decision-making. You stop making choices based on short-term timelines like ‘where will I be in a month or six months’ and start tackling the hard things you’ve been putting off, especially marketing, because you understand you’re building something for decades to come.
