How do I overcome emotional attachment to old work when trying to sell it in a basement sale?

Many artists feel emotionally attached to their work like the people on Marie Kondo’s show who cry over donating old clothes they haven’t worn in years. If you’re in that camp, recognize that this is normal but you need to work through it. Consider reading Marie Kondo’s book ‘The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up’ for perspective on letting go of things. Remember that your work sitting in storage is essentially a museum of your artistic journey, but it’s doing nothing for your business. The work needs to go out into the world to have value and impact. Keeping it in your basement doesn’t serve you or the art.
