How should I use Instagram Stories versus regular feed posts?

Instagram is actually three social networks in one: the regular feed, Reels, and Stories. Many younger creators make the mistake of putting all their personality and behind-the-scenes content in Stories because that’s where they naturally communicate, but Stories disappear after 24 hours. If someone discovers you six months later, they’ll never see that content. You need to put personal content - your process, your daily life, what you’re working on, your personality - into the regular grid feed as well. Different buyers use different ‘rooms’ of Instagram: some only watch Stories, some only scroll feeds, some only watch Reels. You need to show up in all three places because you never know which room your next buyer will be in. Your feed shouldn’t just be finished artwork - it needs to show who you are as a person so buyers can connect with you.
