How often should I be experimenting with new subject matter or styles?

Experiment frequently—you have the ability to create new products weekly or monthly, which is an enormous advantage other entrepreneurs don’t have. If someone had to build software or get widgets made from a factory, they couldn’t iterate that quickly. You can try something new once a week or once a month. Launch new subjects, see what resonates, and if something hits, go all in on it. Don’t pigeonhole yourself into content that isn’t working. If you’ve been marketing hard and it’s not resonating, stop pounding it and try something else. Paint or photograph something you’re personally passionate about—people will see that passion when you’re marketing and selling it. When one subject performs better than what you’ve been pushing, you’ve identified the direction to pursue. This iterative experimentation is a cornerstone tactic of successful entrepreneurs.
