Why do I need to teach the same lessons repeatedly instead of just covering topics once?
One of the dangers in creating educational content is thinking that once you’ve covered a topic, it’s done forever. But the reality is that lessons only settle in through repetition. Even when you think you taught something six months ago, people don’t remember it—they need to hear it again and again. This is a cognitive bias where you think completing a task means it’s permanently done, but learning actually requires rote repetition. The same principles need to be reinforced boom, boom, boom, boom, repeatedly for them to stick.
