How should I think about pricing when creating licensed or special event merchandise?

Create a clear three-tier pricing structure: high (original work), medium (limited editions), and low (open edition prints). This gives collectors at every price point something to buy. Do the math on your costs including licensing fees, production, and time, then price accordingly—don’t assume you can’t make money just because fees are high. You simply need to structure your pricing to make it work. Consider the longevity of demand: some subjects have short-term buzz while others (like championship commemoratives) can sell for years.
