What if I follow all the guidance for running a sale but don't sell anything?
If you execute a sale properly—following the playbook, including incentive and scarcity, and marketing it—but don’t sell anything, that’s still a positive step forward. You’re learning a critical business skill that you’ll use for the rest of your career. Running sales is a muscle you have to build, and everyone starts somewhere. Even if you only send one email to a tiny list, you’ve gotten one sale under your belt and started the learning process. The next sale will be easier, and the one after that even more so. Don’t be discouraged—focus on the fact that you’re developing essential skills. Some artists take a year or more to see results, but the practice itself is valuable.
