Why should I set a goal or deadline for my marketing efforts?
If you’re training for a marathon, it’s a good idea to have a race date set—otherwise there’s no teeth to it, no urgency driving your preparation. The same principle applies to your art business. Setting a major goal like preparing for Q4 (the fourth quarter holiday season) gives you a concrete target to work toward. It creates accountability and urgency. There’s still plenty of time between now and Q4 to work on the three layers of attention: getting more attention, running test sales to learn the craft and get better at it, and warming up the attention you already have. Having that deadline creates the structure you need to make consistent progress rather than drifting without clear direction.
