How do I follow up with customers for repeat business?

Get permission to stay in touch and capture key dates when you first interact with customers. Ask if you can remind them about gift-giving occasions—Mother’s Day, Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries. Many customers, especially those pressed for time, actually appreciate these reminders because it solves a problem for them. Keep their image gallery or purchase history accessible so you can send targeted reminders: ‘Your wife’s birthday is coming up—would you like to order another print?’ or ‘The holidays are approaching—would grandparents like prints of the grandchildren?’ This isn’t being annoying; you’re providing a valuable service by offering convenient, thoughtful gift solutions. The key is getting explicit permission upfront, which most people readily give when you frame it as making their lives easier.
